The food industry has not had an affordable, premium, high-temperature and food-grade ALL-IN-ONE product solution; UNTIL NOW!

Formula 600 is a superior multi-purpose high temperature food grade ester based synthetic oil that is fortified with anti-wear additives and oxidant inhibitors that optimize lubricant performance and offers long lasting protection.  Formula 600 should be in every maintenance technician's trolley and can be used to provide superior load and wear properties and prevent rust and corrosion on any equipment that has metal to metal friction.

Formula 600 has a high flash point & a recommended operating temperature range of -25°C to 315°C (-13°F to 599°F).

It is a NSF H1 and in Canada a CFIA registered food grade product that is acceptable for incidental contact with food in and around food processing areas.  This product is designed for use in food and drug processing plants, on conveyors, chains, bakery ovens, racks, slicers, grinders, casters, and more.

There are other products available, but they do not exhibit the awesome performance and lubricating properties that offered with Formula 600.  This NSF registered, H1 lubricant passes BRC, AIB, and OSHA audits.

Try Formula 600 and quickly see why this is the best performing food grade spray lubricant in its class!

A:

Regarding the Use of Formula 600 on Convection Oven Fans

Thank you for reaching out.

Formula 600 is a high-performance food-grade lubricant spray designed specifically for metal-to-metal friction points, hard-to-reach components, and multi-temperature industrial applications. It is not intended for use as a food-release agent or for any application involving intentional food contact.

General Recommendation
Applying any spray lubricant directly onto a convection oven fan is NOT generally recommended. Most convection oven fans use sealed bearings that are not designed to be lubricated, and spraying lubricant on the blades or into the airflow path can cause:

  • Overspray or migration onto cooking surfaces
  • Buildup of dust or debris on the fan assembly
  • Possible performance issues caused by residue on blades

When Formula 600 May Be Appropriate:
If the fan is seized or showing clear metal-to-metal friction, a very controlled, targeted application only to the shaft or hub may help. This should be done extremely cautiously to ensure the product:

  • Does not contact the fan blades
  • Cannot be pulled into the oven chamber during rotation
  • Is applied strictly to the friction-point metal components

Outside of this specific circumstance, lubrication is not advised, and the proper corrective action is typically repair or replacement of the fan assembly.

Final Note
Because equipment designs vary, we recommend confirming with the oven manufacturer or a qualified service technician for guidance specific to that model. This ensures the safest and most compliant approach.
